Adventures of Trekking to the Everest Base Camp in Nepal
By [http://EzineArticles.com/expert/Balaram_Thapa/1266141]Balaram Thapa
Nepal is a wonderful country that has many aspects of diversity within itself. The most prominent one among the various aspects would be the topography, where the land structure is plain and smooth in the lowlands of terai, isolated valleys among rigged terrains in the hills and majestic mountains in the Himalayan region. Nepal is called the country of the Himalayas and has the world's tallest mountain, Mount Everest located at the Khumbu region of the country. Along with Mount Everest, there are many other mountain peaks surrounding Everest as well. Trekking in the Everest Region of Nepal is perhaps one of the most famous trekking destinations for travelers all over the world. The Sagarmatha zone, named after the world's tallest mountain, is abundant with Sherpa settlements, with Buddhist culture and religion being the majority. That is why, while trekking to the Everest Base Camp, you are likely to come across many monasteries, Gumbas, chaityas and Bihars all along the trekking trail. The path to the Everest Base Camp is decorated mostly with colorful Buddhist prayer flags and carvings on the Mani-stone walls.
The Khumbu region also has Sagarmatha National Park; and while trekking to Everest Base Camp, you would have to hike through the park and get to Namche Bazaar. Adventures in Namche include exploring the village of Namche. It is also called the "Gateway to Everest", and is a wonderful settlement which provides the first glimpses of Mount Everest and its surrounding peaks. The Sagarmatha National Park is a natural World Heritage Site which has a wide variety of unique flora and fauna preserved within its perimeters. The foliages at the park include mostly alpine vegetations of pine, junipers and cedar trees, along with the national flower of Nepal, rhododendrons. In fact, while trekking to the Everest Base Camp, the trekking trail is adorned with rhododendron flowers blossoming in the colors of red, white and pink. Trekking to the base camp, you will most likely excurse the upper catchment areas of the Khumbu region like the Dudh Koshi River, the Bhote Koshi River Basin and the Gokyo Lakes. Other surrounding peaks of the region include Mount Lhotse, Mount Cho Oyu, Mount Thamserku, Mount Nuptse, Mount Ama Dablam and Mount Pumori among many others. Trekking through the forests of the region to the Everest base camp, you will encounter various avifaunas that inhabit the acreage. The forest provides habitat to at least one hundred and eighteen species of birds, including Himalayan Monal, Blood pheasants, red-billed and yellow-billed choughs. Not only that, the Sagarmatha National Park allows you to trudge through the habitat of rare animals like Musk-Deer, Snow Leopards, Himalayan Black Bears and Red Pandas. Himalayan Thars, Langur Monkeys, Martens and Himalayan Wolves are also found in the park.
Trekking to Everest Base Camp also has the revelation of visiting the Tengboche Monastery along the trail. It lies in the Tengboche Village in Khumjung. It is a famous Tibetan Buddhist monastery of the Sherpa people and is also a hub for trekkers in the Everest region. The Tengboche monastery is one of the largest Gompas in the Khumbu region of Nepal. The monastery provides amazing panoramic views of the mountains like Tawache and Everest, and the monastery itself is ornately decorated with precious and religious paintings and murals and is intricately carved. The monastery attracts many trekkers who are on their way to Everest Base Camp.
While trekking, you will also come across a village called Dingboche. It is also called "The Summer Valley". Excursing from Tengboche, you would come across this little Sherpa settlement that lies in the Chhukung Valley. The Imja River flows directly east of the village. One of the characters of Dingboche is the kilometers of stone walls, built using stones of different sizes that cover the entire valley of Imja. The stones are removed in order to plow the soil and end up being piled one over the other creating the kilometers of wall. It is named the "Summer Valley" because it receives more sun than the village of Pheriche, and is less affected by the icy winds that descend through the valleys of Khumbu.
From Nagerjun, which is a settlement lying just above Dingboche set on the edge of a hill in the Chhukung Valley, you would be presented with Himalayan vistas of Mount Lobuche east and Lobuche west, Toboche Peak; and sometimes, when the weather allows, you can even see the magnificent sight of Mount Makalu as well from here. Mount Makalu is the fifth tallest peak in the world. Trekking to the Everest Base Camp, you would eventually be going to Lobuche as well, and there, you can experience the cyan of the Khumbu Glacier moraine. The Khumbu Glacier is located in the ridge between Mount Everest and Lhotse-Nuptse. With an elevation of four thousand nine hundred meters, it is the world's highest glacier, and is also one of the largest glaciers of Nepal. The Khumbu Glacier is followed for the final part of the trail to Everest Base Camp. The glacier has a large icefall, The Khumbu Icefall, at its west end.
Reaching the Everest Base Camp presents one with the sublime atmosphere of the mountains. The area is enveloped with snow and is extremely tranquil and beautiful. You would be having the adventure of a lifetime trekking to the Everest Base Camp. Encountering wonderful natural surroundings adorned with emerald foliages, serpentine rivers and rare animals, trekking in the Khumbu region presents you an excellent opportunity to observe and take part in the unique and diverse culture of the people, experience their traditions and customs and visit many religious sites and temples. Social Media Networks Make Global Travel Lodging Easy
Social Media Networks Make Global Travel Lodging Easy
By [http://EzineArticles.com/expert/Lori_Stumpfrock/2395464]Lori Stumpfrock
The online marketplace for international lodging through social media networks has contributed to the rapid spread of globalization between people of different countries. The beginning framework for our modern-day computers, travel, and internet capabilities occurred around the mid-twentieth century. Over the next sixty years, unimaginable advances in computer technology and increased accessibility to the world-wide web on an international scale have created a multitude of travel accommodation options for the avid world travelers. A large part of this increase in international lodging options for world travelers is due to social media networks. People are now able to resourcefully and effectively plan for international travel arrangements using social media networks. Travelers can experience varying cultures among people and local landscapes, leading to a unique experience on a global level. Our world has gotten smaller while our travel options are now endless. Once a traveler arrives at a preferred location, lodging within the area can be as culturally immersive as the traveler desires. In a word, globalization of travel has gone digital (Susan Lund).
Common practices for planning a trip, such as contacting an airline, hotel, or planning a trip through a travel agency have become increasingly obsolete. A quick search on the internet yields numerous websites to search and explore. A recent article in Forbes listed several useful websites for planning a trip (R.L. Adams). Among the ten websites listed, Airbnb.com and HomeAway.com stand out as offering global lodging opportunities on a very authentic cultural level. Airbnb is an online marketplace and hospitality service, enabling people to lease or rent short-term lodging including vacation rentals, apartment rentals, homestays, hostel beds, or hotel rooms. HomeAway offers a selection of rental accommodations from cabins to castles to farm houses. In addition to these sites, Couchsurfing.com provides a platform for members to stay as a guest at someone's home, host travelers, meet other members, or join an event. The common thread of each of these three sites is their platform to connect the individual traveler to a global community opening their doors to them.
The first website mentioned, Airbnb, ranks number one on Forbes' list. Airbnb was almost unknown in 2008. Now over a decade later it has become synonymous with lodging at any price point enabling people to list or rent short term lodging. As Airbnb website details, the company expands an individual's travel possibilities and opportunities to over 191 countries. Airbnb promotes that travelers can experience cities as locals more so than as tourists. Airbnb has customers from around the world and believes that individuals will continually become more connected to more cultures, shaping the way that the individual traveler engages with the world.
A second social media network for lodging options is HomeAway. This website is listed as second on Forbes' recent article of top travel lodging resources. It has been established since 2005 and is making a name for itself by acting as a rental classified having over 1 million listings in 22 languages in 190 countries. HomeAway's website states its' mission is to make every vacation rental in the world available to every traveler in the world through their online marketplace. HomeAway offers a wide-ranging selection of vacation homes. Travelers have more room to relax with added privacy while experiencing the world around them.
Having not made Forbes' list, Couchsurfing definitely stands out, expanding a traveler's opportunities to experience world cultures up-close and personal. Couchsurfing was founded in 2004 and services over 14 million people in 200,000 cities around the world. Couchsurfing's website states that the company envisions a world made better by travel and travel made better by connection to foster cultural exchange and mutual respect. Travelers can connect with hosts who offer air mattress, couches, or spare bedrooms as lodging - experiencing the world in a way money cannot buy.
In summary, there is a common thread between these social media networks that is focused on global lodging: they will unquestionably continue to play a role in furthering globalization. An individual's travel experience will differ greatly depending on which country he or she chooses to visit. Airbnb, HomeAway, and Couchsurfing are three sites that focus on understanding through the share of ideas, culture, and knowledge. Social media networks have the opportunity to connect or disconnect global relations, through the cultivation of a shared global citizenship between people of all cultures.

Reasons Why You Should Travel Alone
Reasons Why You Should Travel Alone
By [http://EzineArticles.com/expert/Hammad_H_Sheikh/1258092]Hammad H Sheikh
Travelling is a beneficial activity for all of us because it makes us realise the importance of travelling and expanding our horizons for exploring and not living in the same place all the time. Travelling all by yourself has some significant advantages. If you are confused about whether you should travel alone or not, here are top reasons why you should:
Encourages Uniqueness
Travel is a one-of-a-kind experience that sets you apart from others and allows you to explore your passions -instead of reading about Mona Lisa, see it in person; don't take that dance class at the rec centre, get a Flamenco lesson in Spain. Then come home and impress your friends with your travel stories.
A Chance To Be Adventurous!
After 18+ years of being told what to and what not to do, travel lets you try new things like skydiving, whitewater rafting, that strange delicacy in Thailand and other things you never tried at home.
Self-Discovery
Seventy-eight percent of young travellers want to learn something when travelling. Uncover your hidden art critic at the Louvre in Paris or find your passion for ancient architecture at the Acropolis in Athens.
Bragging Rights
Fifty-six percent of your friends want to travel as a result of your posts because travel is excellent, not just because you are an expert at selecting the perfect phone filter. The only thing better than seeing the Eiffel Tower lit up at night is how insanely jealous your friends will be when you upload your pictures.

The best thing about them is the fact that there is a proper tour organized which allows you to roam the whole vicinity of these towers within an hour for a very reasonable price. This pair of towers is the world's longest; standing at a height of more than 450 m. One thing that many people don't know about these towers is the subtle Islamic reference in their depths. The illumination here brings out the beauty of these towers.
Sin Sze Si Ya Temple
Just like all other such places, this temple is known to be a sanctuary for people who are seeking inner peace. This temple is one of the oldest Chinese temples found in Kuala Lumpur. According to tradition, this temple was built in the memory of two Chinese immigrants who had a key role in helping the ruler Yap move to the status of 'Kapitan'. The temple is decorated with several beautiful ornaments. The most important feature of this temple is said to be the feeling of being at the frontier that you get once you go here.
Kampung Baru
This area in Kuala Lumpur is filled with small, traditional houses and tiny gardens filled with plants of different types. This provides a tourist with a sense of security and serenity. The colorful houses and the streets make you feel like you have been brought back to Earth after you have seen the glamour of the Petronas Towers. How Travel Is Reshaping the Fashion Industry
How Travel Is Reshaping the Fashion Industry
By [http://EzineArticles.com/expert/Mary_Lissa/2313284]Mary Lissa
The answer to the question 'how travel is reshaping the fashion industry' is simple!
When an Asian tourist of a high socioeconomic status goes to the US and shops fashion accessories; they bring the international market with them. When they catch the attention of the top fashion brands, they cater their needs by those brands. These same brands, having seen the effect of the increase in tourism, have started creating unique marketing campaigns that provide their international buyers. They would provide people with special deals, personal shoppers or even a language translator to help the market grow in their country. So in this article, we are going to talk about this topic in detail!
Travel Industry and Social Media is Changing the Fashion Industry:
Nowadays, being able to reach your target audience through the internet is more important than anything else!
If a brand fails to do that, see a major decline in sales. It could be through social media and digital marketing or e-commerce, but the new revolution of the fashion industry is how internet-famous your brand is. Models, makeup artists, producers, and stylists are hired more for their influence in the social media than their talents. The more followers on Instagram or Twitter, the more your brand would sell. That is the new formula that is reshaping the fashion industry.
Brands that still stick to the traditional marketing style have been losing their relevance in the industry and their sales. Three out of four buyers are inclined to buy a brand's products after seeing it or hearing about it, online. Social media is transforming the fashion industry because now people want to experience firsthand what they buy through Snapchats or Tweets online. If a consumer does not find their desired brand online, they move on to the next big brand that is online and serve their wishes.
Today, a person's social status is determined by their extravagant travels and experiences rather than the Jimmy Choos they wear or the bag they carry. It is all about opulent adventures in foreign countries and not how much you spend on your watches or clothes. There has been a break in the fashion industry that has brought about a shift in the way they do things now. Designers and brands worldwide are trying to modify themselves to be able to fit in the new demographic trends. That is how travel is changing the fashion industry. The Chinese tourists did approximately a record $229 billion shopping of expensive items in the year 2015. But, with the new wave of preference of destinations over lavish goods, brands have started adapting the same trend. They are now trying to reach different regions of the world by marketing their campaigns in a way they get the 'experience' people desire. These are just some of the ways high-end travel is reshaping the fashion industry!
New Hotel Brands Are Reshaping the Travel Industry:
Nowadays, with the advent of travelers in every industry, it has become a new trend for big hotel companies to roll out new varieties in the hotel business. They are re branding existing hotels with new portfolios. It has become a new business strategy where they offer you captivating designs, intricate detail to the menus, striking artworks and emphasize on the local cultures. These new hotel brands offer a new way to experience your hotel stay. They all promise uniqueness while remaining consistent with their quality and service. Below is a list of such hotels that have attempted to bring a combination of reliable quality and exclusive experiences, together.
AC Hotels by Marriott:
They are a collection of hotels centered on design and such hotels provide their guests with energetic atmospheric lounges. They located in France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy, and very recently in New Orleans. It is mainly for travelers who want to stay at Cosmopolitan hotels in cities.
Canopy by Hilton:
They have combined the charms of newly built and renovated buildings. Their designs are locally influenced and hold classy significance. They have also signed up to be in the neighborhoods of Pearl District in Oregon, Portland, Ithaca Commons in Upstate New York and downtown Nashville. It is basically for travelers who wish to have a laid-back time, trying out beer and relaxing activities.
Cordis Hotels and Resorts:
They are a collection of upscale hotels with exceptional architecture and designs by the Langham Hospitality Group. They will, recently, have their opening this summer in The Langham Place Mongkok, Hong Kong. They are also planning to open in China, New York, San Francisco, Miami, Singapore, Dubai, Bangkok, Bali, Sri Lanka, Los Angles, London, and Orlando. It is intended for travelers who are away on business but want their bit of luxury, too!
Curio a collection by Hilton:
These are a range of five and four stars hotels with unique qualities all over the world. Curio attached hotels include places like SLS Las Vegas; Highland, Dallas; the Franklin Hotel, Chapel Hill, North Carolina; the Providence Biltmore, Rhode Island; and Diplomat Resort and Spa Hollywood, Florida. Next will be in Portland, Oregon; Sarasota, Florida; Houston and Doha, Qatar. It is intended for business travelers who want the luxury of Hilton along with the new uniqueness of luxury.
EVEN Hotels:
These hotels, by the Inter Continental Hotel Group, are made keeping health and wellness, in mind. They provide yoga mats inside your room, organic and fresh food, etc. Their locations are in Rockville, Maryland and Norwalk, Connecticut for now, but they will be opening soon in the Midtown East, Midtown West and Brooklyn areas of New York. These hotels are for those IHG high people who would, rather not be, in a drab looking place and expect the usual luxury and comfort.
Graduate Hotels:
These are stylish, unusual pieces of properties that provide sanctuary for the family and professors visiting colleges. They would found in the Graduate Tempe, Arizona, and The Graduate Athens near the University of Georgia. They will soon open in Oxford, Mississippi; Madison, Wisconsin; Lincoln, Nebraska; and Charlottesville, Virginia. It is a definite upgrade from hotels with poor services!
These hotel brands have revolutionized the travel industry by bringing something new to the table. A good travel experience is about the places you visit, the adventures you take part in, but now it is about everything. People have higher expectations, in every aspect of their journey starting from their flight to their hotel stay.
Everyone expects the best in services, and hotels have adapted to these new expectations, pretty well!

When travelling, you want to have the most relaxing time possible. But with so many things to do it can be really hard to stay relaxed and to have everything in order. Concierge services come into the picture to take the burden off your shoulders so you have lots of time to do what you want to do most not worrying about personal things that need to be done. Concierge services can be residential, corporate or personal; the personal services are what you will need when preparing for a holiday travel.
Generally speaking, you will have a manager to take care of your daily tasks such as making phone calls, making hotel reservations, arranging spa services, booking transport and even coordinating luggage assistance. Some of the service providers will basically be open to offer you any kind of assistance you may need including pet care, dining bookings and procuring tickets to events that you want to enjoy during your holiday. The services you can enjoy can be as personalized as possible and they will:

But the truth is when you choose to have a concierge you stand to enjoy services from different service providers and vendors working in conjunction with your provider. This increases the chances of enjoying discounts from the partners, including free upgrades, special perks and treatments and complimentary benefits for various products and services. You may get the rare chance of enjoying free trials, upgrades and discounts at top spas, restaurants, transportation and entertainment companies.
When looking for the best service provider for your travel needs, you should check out
The services - Checking what the concierge services offered entail is very important. There are service providers who may have limits as to what their assistants can do on your behalf while others may be flexible and willing to customize the services to meet all your requirements.
Charges - Also important to check is the charges; some charge at an hourly rate, whereas some will charge the services at a flat fee in consideration for everything you want to be taken care of during your holiday.
Partnerships - Concierge services usually brings a number of other service providers together. If you want something like spa arrangements made for you, you may want to check what spas your service provider works in conjunction with to ensure that they can offer you the best services. Gather Information and Ideas for an Amazing Holiday
Gather Information and Ideas for an Amazing Holiday
By [http://EzineArticles.com/expert/Alnashir_Janmohamed/2341249]Alnashir Janmohamed
There is so much to think about when you want to travel for a family to have a great holiday together. If things don't go well, it can be chaos rather than bliss. Gathering information can give you great ideas about where you want to go, budgeting, and the various activities you can all take part in. Such information is easy to get from a qualified holiday planners travel agency.
Contact them to get some brochures and other information. If you are looking online, they should have current details about various locations on their website. Ask about special deals and promotions. When you travel and even where you decide to go may be influenced by those types of offers they have on the table at that point in time.
They can do the leg work and save you both time and money. They are the experts in travel and stay on top of the various plans out there. They don't want you to struggle, they want you to have fun. Most are very passionate about travel and enjoy the opportunity to assist you.
Early Planning
For the best results from any holiday planners travel agency, you need to plan early. Don't wait until the last minute and then expect them to magically get it all worked out for you at a low price. Instead, talk to them early about what you are interested in and what you would like to spend. Give them the time they need to check for great offers and to get back to you.
Once they find something spectacular, they can contact you to discuss it. This is a great time to ask holiday planners travel agency employees questions you have. Don't book the travel plans unless you fully understand and agree to them. Don't drag your feet though because the deal could slip through your fingers before you know it!
Plan your Agenda
You have limited days when you go on holiday, and you want to get the most out of them. The assistance of holiday planners travel agency can help you to plan your agenda. They can reduce the time you spend getting around, help with transportation, and assist you with getting access to activities you otherwise wouldn't be able to take part in.
They can make recommendations too so you can't arrive at your destination and wish you had signed up to do this or that. Perhaps you are interested in a certain activity and they can help you with options. There may be particular activities you definitely don't want to miss. They can share with you the best days or times to take part in them to avoid crowds or see special events.
If you need to get any types of vaccines or paperwork before you can travel to that destination, they can point it out to you. Too often, the average traveler can easily overlook such requirements.
Support when you Need it
Unfortunately, there can be many variables when it comes to your holiday plans. Your flight may be late, they can't find your reservation at the hotel, and more. You don't have to worry when you have one of the best holiday planners travel agency providers out there backing you up. One call to them and they can get the problems worked out and get your holiday on track.
You won't have such support if you plan your travels on your own. Likewise, you should talk to the holiday planners travel agency about insurance. If your travel plans have to change last minute due to some type of emergency, you may be eligible to get your money back or to reschedule. Otherwise, you would just be out the money and miss out on the holiday travel too.
Let's Talk Travel is very excited to continue bringing you wonderful ways to save money on the vacation you want. A Nomad by Blood - Liberia
A Nomad by Blood - Liberia
By [http://EzineArticles.com/expert/Mike_Hill/2364639]Mike Hill
I have always had the wanderlust gene embedded in my blood. For many years now I have traveled the globe working as a quality specialist having got my early training in Aberdeen after hitch-hiking 960 kilometers to find a job, unsuccessfully I might add, only to get involved in the oilfield a few short months later. From then on it has been a kaleidoscope of change and experience.
The oilfield was the vehicle I used to travel extensively whilst money was never the prime objective it was forthcoming and I have to say usually a better remuneration then the norm. It is and always has been a vocation that has brought me change, education, realisation, and just unadulterated surprise and enjoyment whilst engulfing me in so many different cultures and countries.
Because of when I first began my travels and the lack of technology at my fingertips most of my recorded photographs have melted into the mists of time. More recently technology and especially the advent of digital photography has enabled me to record and log my recent overseas adventures. It is those, because of the clarity of the recorded images and the ability to effortlessly store them, which will be my point of departure in recording my nomadic odyssey over recent years. Others not visually recorded I will address in the future. Below is a brief log of one of my most recent projects to give a flavour of my life on my travels.
Liberia
Unusually for me this contract was mining related and although my work in Quality Assurance, Quality Control is cross industry it was a new and interesting experience for me.
On this particular day, 10th March 2014, depicted below I was attending a blessing of the construction that had been partially finished and to be completed.
It was attended by all the workforce and I was, amongst others, guest of honour there to break a coconut on part of the foundations as part of the ritual. This having been done by all guests of honour everyone was able to partake in some light refreshments. It struck me at the time that so many ceremonies revolve around food globally. It is almost mandatory for any occasion like this to succeed.
The project itself was the ongoing refurbishment of an iron ore mine in Yekepa, the rail link to and from the mine situated further into the hinterland and between it and the port in Buchanan where the iron ore was deposited prior to loading from silos into large ore carrying tankers.
My rotation was 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off and during my periods of work (on) I was billeted in this very property which formed part of a gated village or at least 6 or 7 gated communities in close proximity to one another. By Liberian standards it was pretty good digs. The fact that the electric would cut on a regular basis was testament that we were in Africa, developing Africa, the part of Africa we had come to, to help develop. So it was something taken in your stride and led to some interesting nights around the dying embers of a braai.
In fact it was here that I first tasted Sushi, well actually not because I had first eaten sushi some years before. What was special about this tasting was it was served from the back of bakkie (pick-up) only hours after it had been caught by some of the guys on one of their regular weekend leisure activities. It was without doubt the freshest, tastiest raw tuna I have ever tasted.
Work was as usual on most projects 10 hours a day for 6 days a week which left the Sunday (Friday in Arab countries) free to pursue your pastime or leisure pursuit or just lay on your pit. Television was hit and miss so it was incumbent on you to use your time most profitably. This particular location like many I have had the fortune to work in had an off limits to anywhere other then the confines of the camp. After 6 weeks stir crazy feelings make you crave civilisation and a new face. Fortunately for us this camp was situated next to the sea to accommodate the work ongoing in the port. What that allowed us was to go by vehicle along the seaside of the camp to a lovely spot where we could be beside the sea on our day off. A few beers, a braai, some good company and time just melted away.
Liberia is in West Africa and has thick lush jungles and minimal infrastructure and so where we were was deepest darkest Africa so to speak. Always hot or raining heavily gave this place the humid steamy sticky feel that had you always wanting to have a shower having just completed one.
Work was ongoing and the days were broken by early morning shower, breakfast, work, lunch, work and evening meal. Nights were primarily spent in your accommodation unless punctuated by an impromptu soiree. But predominantly relaxation was taken on a Sunday.
So life maintained its routine week in week out vacation time and work. That was until the advent of Ebola! I will cover this in my subsequent revelation.

Hot Stove League for Bargain Hunters
Hot Stove League for Bargain Hunters
By [http://EzineArticles.com/expert/Bill_Russo/2304064]Bill Russo
As I write this article it is 28 degrees outside and winter's grip is fully upon us in the early days of this new year 2017. With that in mind I have for you today my version of baseball's Hot Stove League.
I'm not talking sport however, unless you consider the hunting of curiosities and antiquities to be sport - and many people do. In New England where I live, specifically on a 64 mile long sand bar called Cape Cod, antique and oddity hunting is great sport during the summer months.
In January all we bargain hunters can do is talk about past 'steals' and 'deals' that we've made while looking forward to May or June when yard sales, flea markets, and curiosity/antique shops will be as common as beach sand.
For veteran seekers of cast off treasures much of what follows will be old hat, but perhaps I'll give you a few new thoughts that might help you in next summer's transactions.
Many people have the misconception that antiques cost more than they can afford. Shopping for antiques is a great way to spend a free afternoon and you may be surprised at how many good bargains you come across. The hardest thing is many people don't know the true value of the particular item they are looking at in an antique shop.
It may have caught their attention because of the style of it or it brings back happy memories. You never really know if the shop owner is trying to up the price or if you are already getting a good deal. Since you can't quickly go to another store and compare the price you pretty much have to decide the maximum you are willing to pay for an item and then walk away if the negations don't work in your favor.
It is a good idea to do some checking into the reputation of a given antique dealer before you even step foot into their store. You will find you are able to get good deals on antiques when you get to know the owner of the store. If you are a frequent shopper in the store you can build a good relationship. Bringing in other customers to the store is something that will get noticed as well. The owners of the antique store will want to work with you on items so that you keep generating more business for them.
You will be able to negotiate the price for what you want if the antique shop is operated by the owner and not several different employees. Even though you will find more selection at antique malls, you won't be able to negotiate the prices as much. Small antique shops can generally offer you some history on the pieces you are the most interested in.
On Cape Cod and I expect just about everywhere else you will do much better at flea markets, garage sales, and in the shops with cash. Money talks - the folding kind - not the plastic variety. Cash does indeed speak and its voice is very loud.
Frequently you will get a far better price if you approach the seller with cash in hand, partly because the credit card fees cut into the vendor's profit. Many of antique stores, as well as the flea markets and yard sales people are hesitant to take personal checks, especially if you are from out of town. Showing that you do have the cash with you in an unobvious way is also helpful. For example, you can count it and then say, "will you take $50 for it? That's all I have with me today.
It is important to remember that you will be buying antiques in the condition they are in. Make sure you take the time to thoroughly examine what you are purchasing. You don't want to get home and discover what you thought was a great bargain is nothing but junk. Most antique dealers take pride in offering quality items but you still need to check. You will be disappointed if you think you are going to take home an antique in mint condition for a very low price though.
If you are looking for certain antiques, take a look around online to get a good idea of what the going price is for them. Try to negotiate something that is about 25% less than the rates you find online. Don't be afraid to ask the antique shop owner to cut you a better price. It helps if you say something along the lines of "would you accept $100 for this?" Instead of "can you lower the price"? It definitely helps you get what you want if you are assertive but not going overboard.
Do not be afraid to ask for a better price, especially at flea markets. On slow days at flea markets and swap meets some vendors don't even make enough sales to cover the cost of their space. If you happen to be the sale that will allow him to at least meet his rental fee, you may be able to negotiate a steep discount.
If you are planning to visit Cape Cod this summer you'll find more antique shops per square mile than just about any other place in New England. Another source for vintage and new items as well, are the sidewalks of the fifteen towns of the Cape. Many seasonal cottage owners frequently upgrade their furnishings. Instead of selling off the old items, they put them out on the sidewalks with a big "Free" sign on them. You can find everything from televisions, to couches, beds, bureaus, and even the kitchen sink! Beginning in May the sidewalks of the Cape could be paved with 'gold' for you.
Also in May, the new season starts at one of the best venues in New England- the Wellfleet Flea Market on Route Six, just over the Eastham line. There are hundreds of dealers and thousands of bargains every weekend from mid may to Columbus Day. When the sun goes down, the market takes off its salesman's apron and reveals its true identity as a delightful old time Drive-in Movie Theater. Every night, rain or clear, Wellfleet shows two first run feature films - an old fashioned double feature! They even still have the vintage drive-in food available from the snack bar. Sooner or later everyone who visits Cape Cod goes to Wellfleet for the flea and the show.

Travelling and exploring new places is one of the best things in life. It gives your experiences that nothing else can give. In fact, travelling can make your life so much more meaningful. This is why some people dedicate a part of their life's savings toward travelling around the world and getting to know new places.
However, while you are roaming the streets of a foreign land as a tourist, you should be aware of your etiquettes. Sometimes, not behaving in the best way can give the people of a place a bad idea about your country and homeland. So, if you want to leave the best impression behind, here are some of the things you should be following on your next trip.
Learn about the Rules of the Place
It's not necessary that what is legal in your country will be legal in another one too. For instance, chewing gum in Singapore is a punishable offence. And not just foreign countries, rules can be different from one place to another in your own country too. So, the best way to make sure that you are not fined, or worst arrested, is to learn about the basic laws of the land you will be travelling to. This information can be accessed from the web easily.
Be At Your Best Behaviour
Remember that when you are travelling to a new place, you are representing the place you are coming from. You don't want to give a bad impression about your homeland. So, try and be polite and smile at people you meet at cafes or public places. Talk to your hotel staff and try to learn about their culture a little more. Once you strike a friendly conversation, you will notice that people will open up to you. They will be willing to help you get around the place. Who knows someone might treat you to a nice homemade meal too!
Don't Make Racist Comments
Often, while travelling, tourists can get microaggressive in certain situations. This will leave a bad taste in not just your mouth but to the other person too. Stay away from judging their culture or making comments on the way they look. People shouldn't get the impression that you don't appreciate their country or culture. So, be cautious about how you behave in public places.

How to Plan a Hunting Safari to South Africa
How to Plan a Hunting Safari to South Africa

When planning a hunting trip anywhere there is many factors to take into consideration such as the proper seasons for the game that you wish to hunt, the different hunting guns and bows that you want o use and which seasons go paired with that. Accommodation at the proper lodges or if preferred camping trips at bounty full game Ranches. And lastly the permits that are needed when hunting big game if needed.
The seasons of hunting comes to when it is wet and when it is dry, this makes a big difference in hunting because of the watering hole aspect. Different styles for hunting can be used for both. Some hunters would like rather to use a bow but that would cut out the possibility of hunting thick skinned large animals such as elephant, white and black rhino, crocodile and so forth. Although some provinces do not allow bow hunting, the northern cape is one of the ones that do. Bows are usually more used when animals are gathered around the watering hole as it is easier to shoot from close range where the bow is most effective.
There are no automatic rifles allowed for hunting in South Africa as well as no weapon using a rim fire.22 or smaller caliber ammunition. No air guns are permitted for hunting with shotguns except in the case of birds. The minimum legal caliber to hunt South African dangerous game is 375, you are also allowed in most cases of big (dangerous) game you are to use other calibers that are larger. Always remember to in all instances to always make use of premium grade ammunition.
When it comes to permits the owners of the farm obtain permits to cover hunting on their property. There are spices that are listed as threatened or protected and permits are obtainable accordingly. The rules for hunting these animals apply to the listed species under the Biodiversity Act of 2004 and they are categorized accordingly.
Endangered: Tsessebe, Black Rhinoceros, Mountain Zebra, African wild dog, Oribi
Vulnerable: Cheetah, Samango monkey, Bontebok, Roan antelope, Suni, Leopard, Blue duiker
Protected: White Rhinoceros, Black Wildebeest, Spotted Hyaena, Black-footed cat, Brown Hyaena, Serval, Elephant, Sharpe's grysbok, Reedbuck, Cape fox.
Hunting on the southern tip of Africa has always, just in the rest of the world been very popular, maybe even a little bit more. The vast difference in climates as well as the great diversity of spices that are on offer allow for year around hunting. There are different types of travel, car, air, train and maybe a cruise. All have different things that you should be aware of depending on the type of travel. For this article, I will discuss travel that takes you to another country. I have written about travel in the past, but I thought that this would be a good time to visit this again.
First make sure that your passport has more than six months before it expires and that it has enough blank pages for customs stamping. Then make copies leave one copy at home with family members or a trusted friend. You should also bring multiple copies with you. After arriving at a foreign country and going through customs, leave your passport n the hotel safe and bring the copies with you.
Do not dress in a manner that screams "I am a tourist". Be respectful of the customs of the country you are visiting, remember this is their country not yours. Do not wear flashy jewelry or carry big expensive cameras. Smartphones take great pictures these days. Speaking of smart phones carry yours at all times. Keep the cash you have with you to a minimum. If you use your credit card, make sure that it is the new chip cards. Keep it in your site at all times. Do not use debit cards.
Before leaving your hotel ask for a business card from the front desk with the hotel address in the language of the country you are visiting. With this you can always show it to a cab driver or someone else for directions back to your hotel.
If you are not comfortable, because of recent events, then either do not go to that country or if there do not leave your hotel. If you do go out be aware of where you are at, again if you don't feel comfortable then leave. In other words, listen to your gut.
Make sure that you arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare, especially for international flights the lines will be long.
If you are taking a cruise, do not let the relative safety of the ship lull you into think that you are totally safe. If you take a tour it better to use the tours that the ship arranges. Yes, they are more expensive, but the cruise lines usually have some type of control.
